Laxton exhibited at ID4Africa 2018 hosted by the Nigerian National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in Abuja, Nigeria, held on 24-26 April 2018. The theme of the conference was “Harmonization of Identity Schemes”.

Laxton’s range of end-to-end Identity and Election Solutions were on display and it was a privilege to have so many visitors representing numerous African governments to the stand. The solutions on show included our unique Rugged Biometric Registration Kit, Rugged Multi-Modal 5″ and 8″ Biometric Hand-Held Devices, Rugged Laptop, and Rugged 442 Fingerprint Reader. Laxton’s new desktop E-Voting, Registration and Verification Devices were also on display.

Laxton has a proven track record of successfully implementing large-scale National Identity and Elections projects in Africa and has been extremely active across the continent in recent years. Some of Laxton’s successfully delivered projects in Africa include:

  • ZIMBABWE: Laxton delivered a complete Election Solution enabling over 5.4 million people to register ahead of the 2018 National Elections. The solution has included: biometric voter registration hardware and software; 3,000 biometric voter registration kits; central voter management system; voters roll; Zimbabwe Electoral Commission election officer training; in-country project management, and logistics.
  • MALAWI: Laxton delivered the complete Identity Solution for Malawi’s National Identity Program where over 9.3 million citizens registered for their National ID in 2017. The solution included: biometric registration hardware and software, 2,000 biometric registration kits; data collection and central data management system; National Registration Bureau officer training; in-country project management, and logistics.
  • MOZAMBIQUE: Laxton is supplying end-to-end Election Solutions in Mozambique ahead of elections in 2018 and 2019. The solution includes: 3,900 biometric voter registration hardware and software units; central voter management system, registration and election day supplies; election officer training; supply-chain management; in-country project management and logistics.
  • TANZANIALaxton delivered an Election Solution where over 24 million voters were registered across the country ahead of the 2015 Presidential Election. As a result over 24 million Voter ID Cards were produced. The Election Solution included 8,000 integrated biometric voter registration hardware and software kits including built-in instant PVC card issuance kits; mini-AFIS; election official training and support; in-country project management and logistics.

Laxton was originally founded in South Africa in 2004, and is delighted that ID4Africa 2019 will be hosted in Johannesburg, South Africa, June 18 – 20, 2019. The theme of the conference will be “Identity Ecosystems for Service Delivery”.
