Chameleon 8 is MOSIP compliant, which opens up new opportunities for countries to biometrically register and verify citizens, wherever they are. Creating an inclusive population register becomes possible. The device captures documents, irises, face (in line with ICAO requirements) and fingerprints. Interactive elements such as audio and visual effects indicate the start and end of the biometric capture process. Laxton developed the registration client and Secure Biometric Interface, allowing operators to register citizens using the MOSIP registration processor. Chameleon 8 conforms to the Secure Biometric Interface 1.0 Trust Level for registration and performs secure capturing, processing, signing and encryption of biometric data. The team works closely with MOSIP’s technical experts to make sure all protocols are met for a secure registration client.

The 13MP rear camera captures supporting documents and face in real-time, while the single iris camera registers both irises in a blink of an eye. The Integrated Biometrics Five-O fingerprint sensor allows for fast capturing of 10 fingerprints using the 4-4-2 sequence.
